Good morning foodies and good news in the Victoria food scene,

Café Malabar in the Victoria Public Market has been named one of the top 10 best new restaurants in Air Canada’s Best New Restaurants list. The restaurant focuses on authentic Kerala-style cuisine, a region that is famous for its use of aromatic spices and diverse range of dishes. 

We’ve also got details on a new ramen spot in Victoria and a new breakfast spot opening tomorrow.

There’s a new ramen eatery in Victoria

Victoria’s food scene just got a little warmer with the opening of a new ramen spot that’s bringing comforting bowls of broth and noodles. With hand-crafted ramen crafted from traditional Japanese techniques and a broth simmered for eight hours to perfection, this new spot brings a taste of Japan to the city.

Café Malabar in the Victoria Public Market has been named #5 on Air Canada’s top 10 best new restaurants list. 

The Outpost Board Game Cafe opened in Langford at 109-2830 Peatt Rd. 

Kattia’s Kitchen will be offering an all-you-can-eat Mexican food buffet on Sundays starting Nov. 24. 

Limey, The British Shop located downtown has closed its doors permanently citing market forces making it impossible to continue.

Reservations are now open for WinterLure, a one-of-a-kind dining experience featuring a six-course menu beneath the shimmering lights of your private dome.

Smile Chicken Toast Sandwich Pop-up: Visit Mile Zero Coffee Co. on Nov 8. from 11am-1pm for a taste of Korean infused street food. 

MeeT Artisan Market Night: Head to MeeT on Blanshard on Nov. 10 for a night featuring handmade goods and good food. 5-9pm. 

Pasta Making Class: Check out La Pasta in the Victoria Public Market this Saturday for a fun night learning to make perfect pasta, how to knead the dough to develop gluten for elasticity, tips, and more.

Wild Mushroom Dinner: Join chef Castro Boateng and team this Saturday for a night featuring Vancouver Island’s most prized ingredient: wild mushrooms. Chef will share a five-course tasting menu with creativity, balance, texture, and bold flavour including chanterelles, pine mushroom, porcini and cauliflower mushrooms.
