Odd Burger is opening in Victoria

After nearly a year of anticipation, the paper is finally coming down at a downtown vegan burger joint this weekend.  

Odd Burger will open its doors at 790 Fisgard St. this Saturday and is celebrating its grand opening with $1 soft-serve ice cream and free tote bags for the first 30 customers. 

Odd Burger is a fast-food restaurant that focuses solely on vegan food that utilizes sustainable and minimally processed ingredients. The Victoria location will be the chain’s first restaurant in BC.

A Victoria restaurant is hosting a tequila tasting this month

Located in the Hotel Grand Pacific, Fathom, is hosting a special, one-night only dinner and tequila tasting menu this month and we can’t wait to see what it’s all about.

Promising a night of exceptional cuisine and a lineup of premium tequilas, the Fathom Patron Dinner is taking place Aug. 22 on the restaurant’s all-season terrace and will feature a five-course gourmet dinner with each course accompanied by the perfect pairing of Patron.

Ocean Garden Restaurant is vandalized: The restaurant in Chinatown had its front door smashed by a man who attempted to steal its live crabs. Later that day, the man threw a smoke grenade into the restaurant. 

Tickets on sale for Merridale’s Cider Harvest Festival: Taste ciders from across BC at the cidery’s annual festival on Sep. 22. Tickets available now.  

Bao announces temporary closure: The restaurant in Chinatown experienced a major roof leak and expects it will be closed for some time while the damage is repaired.

Rifflandia is hosting a Supper Club: Tickets are on sale for a foodie event at the music festival in September that includes tasty dishes from Jones Bar-B-Que and The Ruby.

Emily Braden: The Harlem-based vocalist will perform at Hermann’s Jazz Club today. Doors 5:30pm, show 7pm.   

Phillips Backyard: The music festival returns for its second weekend tomorrow until Sunday, with performances from Jungle, Black Pumas, Earl Sweatshirt, and more.  

Dragon Boat Festival: The annual festival returns for a weekend of dragon boat racing, cultural activities, and live performances. Tomorrow and Saturday at the Inner Harbour and Ship’s Point.  

Metchosin Makers Market: Shop from over 40 artisan vendors and enjoy food and drink, music, and kids activities at Old Metchosin School. Saturday, 11am-4pm. 

Bowker Creek Brush Up Art Show: Check out artwork from over 30 artists along Bowker Creek between Hampshire and Armstrong. Sunday, 11am-4:30pm.  

Dover Quartet: As a part of the Victoria Summer Music Festival, the quartet will perform a matinee concert at Phillip T. Young Recital Hall. Sunday, 2:30pm.
