If you’re looking for a fun activity to take up with friends this coming long weekend, exploring one (or two, or eight!) of Victoria’s many distinctive breweries would come as a no brainer to most. To us, at least, any plans that involve good food and drinks are always high on our radar!

That’s why we’ve created a list of the best spots to check out this coming long weekend, featuring great menus, unique brews and a ton of fun events to consider inviting your loved ones too.

Tickets on sale for Brewery & the Beast: The food and drink festival at Starlight Stadium on Sep. 22 will host over 50 Island food and drink purveyors. 

Best Coast Distillers launches Wildfire Whisky: Partial proceeds from the cinnamon infused whisky will be donated to Peninsula Firefighters fighting wildfires. 

Island’s first Chipotle now open: The new location at 1070 Douglas opened its doors yesterday. The Mexican chain restaurant began in the US and has since gained mass popularity, with locations across Canada.

Cowichan Valley Wine Festival: Explore 12 wineries during this month-long festival that begins today. 

Wonderment: Enjoy free performances and featured evening concerts during this weekend long festival beginning tomorrow. Locations across the city.   

Open Air: Listen to classical music during Pacific Opera and Victoria symphony’s summer festival with events at The Butchart Gardens at Beacon Hill Park today and Saturday. 

Thirsty Chef: Celebrate The Drake Eatery’s 10th birthday in Market Square with tastings from local chefs and breweries. Saturday, noon-4pm.

Soberfest: Celebrate recovery and enjoy live music at this alcohol-free and drug-free festival at Starlight Stadium on Saturday, noon-7pm. 

Viva! Victoria Latin Fest: This family-friendly Latin American cultural event features live music, dance, and food vendors. Saturday and Sunday, noon-6pm.

  • $6 shafts and $6 sweet potato fries at The Fernwood Inn during daily happy hour from 3-5pm and from 9pm to close. 

  • $17 roast beef sliders and $14 white peach whisky sour at Earl's during daily happy hour from 2-5pm and on Sun-Thu from 9pm to close and on Fri-Sat from 10pm to close.
