Discover Victoria restaurants with these Dine Around and Stay in Town menus

Taste these featured menus ahead of the festival’s final weekend

Dine Around and Stay in Town, the food and drink festival featuring more than 45 local restaurants, has been in full force since Jan. 26. The festival allows food lovers the opportunity to try a diverse array of cuisines across the city at set price points. Each participating restaurant has created a featured menu for either $25, $35, $45, $55, or $65.     

We have compiled a roundup of some of these exciting limited-time menus that you need to try before the festival’s final day this Sunday. From fine-dining experiences to award-winning restaurants, Dine Around and Stay in Town covers all the bases.   

Marilena Cafe & Raw Bar

Get a taste for what Marilena Cafe & Raw Bar has to offer with its $65 three-course tasting menu. The elevated Toptable Group restaurant, which was named the third best new restaurant in Canada last fall, has for starters a choice of roasted squash soup, Italian burrata, or sockeye salmon crunch roll. Options for mains include miso glazed sablefish, chestnut agnolotti, and beef tenderloin. For dessert, choose from honey crisp apple verrine, milk chocolate crème brûlée, or an ice cream trio.

Hours: Monday-Sunday, 4:30-10pm

Block Kitchen + Bar

Block Kitchen + Bar has a set $45 tasting menu that starts off with saikyo miso scallop and takoyaki followed by Admiral Sho cauliflower bites, tuna tataki, and prawn Thai curry. For dessert the Asian-fusion restaurant is serving Hawaiian butter mochi made with milk ice cream and pineapple rum compote.

Hours: Sunday-Thursday, 3-9pm; Friday and Saturday, 3-10pm

Ugly Duckling Dining & Provisions

Ugly Duckling Dining & Provisions in Chinatown has a $65 three-course tasting menu that gives you an insight into what the fine-dining restaurant has to offer. The award-winning restaurant’s starters include Manila clam chow mein, sweet and sour foie gras, or dim sum snacks. Main course options include pan-roasted ling cod, ribeye steak, or a trio of suckling pig. Choose either poached Okanagan gala apples or dark chocolate and black sesame terrine for dessert. An optional BC craft beverage pairing is available for an additional $40.

Vis-à-Vis Bouchon Bar

Vis-à-Vis Bouchon Bar in Oak Bay has a $55 three-course menu that begins with the choice of rabbit terrine, brie tart, or scallop soufflé. For the main course choose from bison shoulder, ling cod, or gnocchi made with roasted beets in a forest mushroom cream sauce. Crème brûlée is for dessert, made with ladyfingers and traditional custard. Optional wine pairings are available for each course.

L’Apéro Wine and Cheese Bistro

L'Apėro Wine and Cheese Bistro has a $55 three-course menu that is after any cheese lover’s heart. For starters, choose from either its Unexpected Salad—made with kale, date vinaigrette, and manchego—or its Tuscan Pleasure, a white bean purée with roasted garlic and marinated cherry tomatoes. Main course options include Swiss fondue, raclette, or a cheese board dinner. Dessert is a truffle trio featuring a raspberry white chocolate, a milk chocolate with black tea, and a blue cheese and port dark chocolate.

Hours: Thursday-Saturday, 11am-11pm; Sunday and Wednesday, 11am-9pm

Boom + Batten

Sit by the waterfront and enjoy Boom + Batten’s $55 three-course tasting menu that begins with a choice of roast butternut squash soup, little gem salad, or grilled cotechino sausage. For the main course, choose from local bouillabaisse, braised pork belly, or handmade pappardelle with roasted mushrooms and arugula. Dessert is sticky toffee pudding with vanilla crumb and ice cream.
